4 Star Sales Review

This was my second time coming to Tiffany regarding a vehicle. I came to Tiffany because I knew she would be up front with me as I am with her when it comes to what can be done. I received a note from GSM regarding trading in my vehicle for their pre-owned inventory. I was looking into get a used/new vehicle. I could have gone to another dealership for a new jeep, however I wanted to see if Deacon Jones Nissan could help me find the vehicle I wanted within my price range. They spent one day helping me and I scheduled an appointment to come in the next day to work with Nissan. I felt I was given a really great deal on a trade in value (the night before it was looked at), so they knew exactly what my car featured, the day before I traded it in. At my appointment the next day, they arranged for the vehicle that I was looking at to be delivered from another dealership, which I understood took man power and money to do, so that I inspect the vehicle in person and test drive it. Nissan did some preliminary numbers so that I had an idea of what to expect and it was reasonable.
At the appointment, I test drove the vehicle, was very happy and looked at the preliminary numbers, I was satisfied to move forward, especially when I was told prior to the bank work, how much trade in value my vehicle was. Paperwork began, which took awhile, but the entire staff was pleasant, so waiting wasn't a problem. It came down to what the final numbers came to be. We were still satisfied with the outcome, so then it was a matter of signing the paperwork. That was also flawless. I told Tiffany that this is the reason I came back to Deacon Jones Nissan, because they made car buying simple and easy. Not complicated. Plus they were very generous with their offers. We signed the paper work and all was said and done.
The issue was I did not read the final paper work that I signed because I was told all the information that I needed. So I felt that all should be straight. We come to find out that the trade in value was $1000 less than what we were told. I went back to the dealership and I was told that the Brian, the General Manager, did my paperwork, but he wasn't in and he would give me a call the next day. In the meantime, the GSM, Kevin, told me that sometimes, the difference is taken off the sale price of the vehicle, which I knew that wasn't the case, as the I had a print out of the sale price. So I waited the next day to hear back from Brian. When I didn't hear back from the GM, I spoke with Kevin, who said that the discrepancy of the $1000 was that my vehicle was found to be a manual rather than an automatic. Which upon thinking of it... Nissan looked at my vehicle and wrote all of its information the day prior to me coming in and trading it in. It should have been written down prior to calling Ken Jones to get market value for the vehicle, whether or not it was a manual. 24 hours prior to calling banks and getting a deal for us.
In the end, Brian the GM, called us to apologize and offered us a generous compensation for the $1000 difference, though it was due to the manual transmission, we were just NOT told of the price change. If we were told of it prior to making the deal, this would not have been a big issue for us. We would have understood. But being surprised after the fact, that is what I was disappointed in. Always be up front and tell your customers what is going on, so there are no surprises. We are VERY happy with our purchase, VERY happy that Brian understood why I was not satisfied, and VERY happy that Nissan wants to continue doing business with us the in the future. ALL we ask is that ALL information be presented and not a surprise. Thank you very much.
