2021 Nissan Versa | Specs & Features

The 2021 Nissan Versa comes with a plethora of active safety features at an adorable price. It is an appealing subcompact vehicle that offers a tranquil drive. With its fuel efficiency and popular features, it is definitely among the most desirable cars of 2021.

In this article, we will be discussing the specs and features of the Nissan sedan, Versa:

All trims of Versa will come with a four-cylinder engine offering a horsepower of 122 hp and powering the front wheels. The default transmission is the five-speed manual that is available on all base models. However, you can get a CVT (Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission) on the S level as well. The CVT is available as standard on the SR and SV trim levels that mimic actual gear changes for preventing coarse noises. Overall, it offers a smooth drive to its customers.

Fuel Economy

Versa has an estimated EP rating of 40 mpg on the highway, and 32 mpg in the city.

Unlike the previous model, the 2021 Versa doesn’t have the look of a play area. There are nice materials used throughout, along with the dashboard and doors made of soft-touch surfaces. Even though there isn’t leather upholstery and power-adjustable seats, you can get a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel and heated front seats with the fanciest model. In the SV model, there are some desirable features offered standard like a digital screen and a mounted armrest for the driver’s seat. The Vera SR brings remote start, passive-hands-free entry, and automatic climate control features.

The 2021 Versa is equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard. Even though there are several useful knobs and buttons on this, only the SR and SV trim levels come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. All the models come with voice-command capability and three USB ports. However, if you want SiriusXM satellite radio in your car, you will have to go for higher trims as it isn’t offered in the base model.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or NHTSA hasn’t fully crash-tested the 2021 Nissan Versa. Also, the last model of Versa that was tested by the IIHS or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety was not one of the Top Safety Picks. However, since then, the Versa has come a long way. There is a multitude of new driver-assistance technologies offered as standard, such as lane-departure warning and automatic high-beams. Even though its rivals like the Kia Rio Sedan and the Accent offer features like automated emergency braking, the roster of driver-assistance and safety features definitely outshines them. Here are a few of the key safety features offered in the 2021 Nissan Versa:

  • Rear and front automated emergency braking (standard)
  • Rear cross-traffic alert (available)
  • Blind-spot monitoring (available)
  • Adaptive cruise control (available)
